| This issue acknowledges and celebrates, among
other important events: Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day,
Purim, Easter, Passover!
It has been a rather long time since the publication of
the last issue of Scribal Tales, but as the expression goes,
this one is well worth waiting for.
A twenty-two day virus was really the cause of the delay,
and I found it difficult to shake the effects of the virus.
Enough said, but a special thanks to Terry-Ann (Volberg) for
getting me through that episode in my life.
A plus for the virus was that I lost 18 pounds - which
I hope to keep off.
Here is a brief summary of what you can expect to find
when you view the February - April issue of Scribal Tales:
Featured Story:
Our newest column, General Fiction, features our Valentine's
tale of Reunions
by William L. Kutsch. Chapter 1. It is a story of unrequited
love. Chapter 2 will be featured in the next issue of Scribal
Tales. William Kutsch, a friend and fellow court reporter
has a wonderful knack for telling a tale of love that should
have been consummated 20 years prior, but failed to follow
a determined course of love. Can you go back in time? Read
William's tale, follow the link to his web site, and request
a Scribal Tales discount on his book. Bill will be glad to
send you an autographed copy of his novel. I think it will
bring a tear to your eye, as you read about a love that was
meant to be and ends in - well, you'll have to read the novel
to find out.
Torment by Gabe Morales:
Chapter 5 of the first epic of Scribal Tales. Gabe does
not fail his faithful readers by producing a tale within a
tale or a plot within a plot. Moonlit
Reflection is a tale for the search for "
the
Black Shard of Odan the Scribe
" bringing to the
reader the opportunity to read Gabe's fantasy story of a quest
within a quest, as the witch, Sidria, uses all within her
power to gain control of the "shards of the scribe."
Will she succeed?
Will Hadrian die?
Will Rasa's untold scheme within a scheme become apparent
to all?
Who is the Darconite that seeks revenge?
Torment is a wonderful tale, and is bound to become a
full-length novel in the future.
Umbilicus Urbano by Mark Orr:
Ah, give me a barbarian named Belicar, a virgin princess,
an evil wizard, a set of twin wolves called "Scar and
Maim," a mysterious city, Optopolis, and a rare gem,
Umbilicus Urbano,
and I will give to our readers a fantasy tale well worth publishing.
Mark Orr will certainly receive a following with his tale
of Belicar and the barbarian's code of honor. I am told that
Mark intends to honor Scribal Tales with future stories of
barbaric bravery.
Soul Price by Roderick Gladwish:
You want Horror stories, Scribal Tales gives you want
you want. But be careful what you wish for.
Soul Price
is a tale that will make you want to sleep with the lights
on. The story simply stays with you. Roderick Gladwish takes
you back to the roaring 20s - 1927 to be precise and brings
you a tale of the high cost of the price of a soul. I do not
want to reveal anything about this tale, except for the following
admonition: Make sure you have paid your electricity bill
because if the lights go out, and you're reading this tale,
you are bound to suffer dire consequences.
"Calling Dr. Mason. Calling Dr. Mason. Dinner is
served."
