Gabe
Morales
Well,
where to start! My name is Gabe Morales, born 28 short summers
ago, under the sign of Aquarius. I currently live in Alexandria
, VA, although I claim New Jersey as my stomping grounds.
I make my living in the wonderful world of computers and
am employed as a Network Engineer with a company that provides
government contracting.
I live with my beautiful wife, Nicole Carlo. She is my
companion, my friend, my love, and my muse. We are recently
married, having exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony that
would make an Elven wedding seem like a cookout.
A romantic at heart, I have always had a flare for poetry.
Likewise, I have always been a fan of Fantasy novels, dating
back to when I was kid (although it is argued that I still
act like a kid!). So, I wonder if it was mere coincidence
that I was introduced to the wonderful world of Scribal
Tales, or has Fate has brought me to the world of Odan.
Being the first installment of what I hope will be many,
Torment is the first short fantasy story I have ever written.
I look forward to exploring new adventures with my characters,
as well as introducing some new one's that are being developed
(and most importantly, avoiding the Blood Avenger, although
I think Valdor can take her!).
Speaking of Valdor
Lets talk about the characters
a bit.. I must thank my muse for his creation. It was a
meeting of the minds that led to his birth and creation.
I kind of like him, so I have to find ways of keeping him
alive I guess! At least until we find a cure for his ailment!
He has allowed me to really open up my imagination, from
his appearance to his native tongue. I can only hope to
continue developing his world as we progress through this
adventure.
And what of little Hadrian the Wanderer? Although Valdor
is my main character, I find Hadrian to be my pride and
joy. It is through the tiny Bard that I am able to interject
my poetic side and
. Eh?
.what was that? Oh, uh,
Hadrian would like to speak for himself
I speak for myself thank you much, sorry,
don't mean to be rude.
But your description of me is out of touch, be gone and
go see your muse.
At Valdor's side is where I stand, singing my words and
my song
So drop some coin inside my hand, thanks for stopping by,
so long!
Ahem
.Thank you for that Hadrian, now get lost. Where
was I
uh, you can see what a task it is with that
one around. I sometimes wonder why he can't be more like
Valdor, the strong and silent type. Oh well!!
There are some other characters that are currently in development.
My muse has provided me the inspiration I need to bring
out other characters to compliment my dynamic duo. My writings
are dedicated to the lovely lady I share my life with for
the support she gives, for pushing me to use my talents
and creativity for something different and for giving me
the courage to put it out there for all to see (and rip
to shreds!)
Many thanks to DanO who has graciously welcomed me into
this fantastic world of creativity and excitement. I hope
to be able to reach out to the readers of our tales and
give them something to dream about. I welcome your comments
on my writing, and am honored to be able to share this with
you all. To all my critics out there, be gentle, but at
the same time, be honest. I leave you with some parting
words courtesy of Hadrian the Tune:
On the wings of a great dragon sailing
through the sky
I watch the Red Sun set and the Pale Moon rise.
Across dry desert sands and plush green fields,
I look to the future to see what she yields.
Be it good luck or bad that crosses my path
I keep my crossbow loaded and ready to blast!
