What does Scribal Tales have to offer by way of publication to celebrate Valentine's Day? Love stories (sort of):

Beauties' Club by Tala Bar: What a pleasure this tale turned out to be. For instance, did you know that Cinderella (not Cindi, please) was really known as Moonbeam; that she was buddy-buddy (can that possibly be the correct phrase) with Rosebud; shared an "apartment" with Snow White (or is that "Snowdrop?") or that they lived a bohemian existence, close to where the Seven Dwarves ran their house? Ah, it is all very romantic, very well written, well-told and well-worth reading. No one will be disappointed - except if you had a preconceived notion that Prince Charming was charming . he was a wimp!

Reunions by William L. Kutsch: Chapters 3 & 4. The story of unrequited love will touch your heart. The big news is that William Kutsch has agreed to serialize his published novel on Scribal Tales. Enjoy to your "Heart's" content.

Cadida and the Djinn by Marva Dasef: Here is a love tale that is "G" rated. A tale I would encourage my nieces to read, a fantasy love story with a golden heart. Cadida, a precocious child, seeking romantic love, finds it -- only, of course, to find out that, perhaps, you shouldn't wish for what you want, it tends to disappoint you. The tale could easily have been "spiced" up to give it an "R" rating, but Marva Desef shows her writing skills off to young women who hold romance and adventure near and dear to their heart.

A Chance Meeting by Michael Gallant: Michael Gallant (our Web Goddess' soul mate) has submitted a tale of adult romance in a wonderful fantasy setting. Michael's martial arts background, his Marine training all come to the fore in this tale of adult love, a chance meeting that leads to a grand-sweeping adventure. Michael, I should mention is the editor of the highly successful Quantum Muse, the Internet writing site upon which our own Scribal Tales is based (so there it is flattery). Be that as it may, here is a tale in which a rather cunning thief, Trilisean Ui Cuillean, uses her rather seductive skills to cause a warrior barbarian dog-of-war, aptly named Connhail Ui Domnhal (fear not, those names are only mentioned once) to join her on one of her daring thefts. All goes well - well, not that well - and they fall - not necessarily in love - a fantasy tale that is perfect for Valentine's Day.

Prophets of the Shadow by Darren Reid: It is not exactly a love story, unless you call a pimp, Alamin (his character changes from that of a protagonist to that of a woman beating pimp (did I mention that before), his two gal accomplices, Alamin, a dark and sultry beauty, and Beth, a well-proportioned high-class call-girl, on a strange and distant planet called Enthura - whew - and the love these women come to have for the Prophet of the Shadow (See, I told you it was a love story). Darren Reid comes to Scribal Tales from the United Kingdom. Prophets of the Shadow is actually a prologue to Darren's soon to be published full-length novel, Chronicles of the Shadow. Welcome, Darren.

The Fattening Spell by Janice Jackson: Karl Strange and Dora - well they are not, of course, lovers, but they do love each other. No one loves and cares for their characters more than Janice does. But there is trouble at the Black Dragon Inn. Dora loves her cooking, especially sampling "tiny" tasty bites. Karl loves Dora enough to put her on a diet. Will their friendship survive? Read on as our shared world series continues with another day in the life of.

The Pretentious Twit by Michael Battaglia: Our monthly reviewer gets into the swing of things (yes, Michael is sentimental, kind, generous in his praise - who the hell am I kidding - ask those who have been reviewed what they think of the Pretentious Twit or as Michael says, "Ask me. I'm ready. I dare you to." (Kind soul that he is.) In Reunions Redux, Michael reviews Chapter 2 of Reunions, gives insight into second chapter writing (an art, in and of itself) and actually says, somewhere in his 2000 word critique, "I liked it." Comments like that bring a tear to my eye - and of course make me double-check my email that it was, indeed, Michael who said it. I knew those long hours would finally cause a breakdown. I warned the lad to stop working so hard. Oh, well.

Glossary of the Damned by Michael Battaglia: Well, have I whetted your appetite to read Michael's work? I hope so. But when you consider the length and breadth of his work, I importuned upon Michael (hey, after all, I'm the editor) to produce a glossary of his multiple characters. That glossary, aptly named "Glossary of the Damned," is published in Tristian's World, which, of course, is one of the cornerstones of Scribal Tales. It should aid you, dear reader, to read, comprehend and begin to truly understand what a wonderful creation Michael has brought into the literary world. That being said, on the next edition of Scribal Tales, "Home is in Your Head," a wonderful fantasy chapter (or three), where magic is king.

Echoes of the Past - Part 1 by Darin Dion Hunt : "The Stranger's Tale," previously published in Scribal Tales has a great following (see our archive file). The next four chapters will appear in our shared world tales, but to heighten your desire to see how this tale turns out, I have had Darin prepare a comprehensive cast of characters. Check out the shared world tales and sit back and enjoy, as the Ruler of the Blood Realm is brought to life.

OOPS!
The nameless scribe, the troll, the mongrel, their journey commences with a cruise through the Sea of the Dead.  The fifth chapter, The Law of Club and Fang, will reveal a number of secrets about the characters who are live within the world of Odessa. While this is not a Valentine's Day story, it is a tale waiting to be told.
