The Pale Stranger by Jagjiwan Sohal

The man slowly stumbled his way through the dark, barely keeping himself upright on the fighting staff he had fashioned as a makeshift crutch. His Neanderthal face was heavily bruised, with unsightly purple contusions on his broad jaw and thick forehead, which framed a horribly broken nose. That injury had resulted in two heavy black eyes that were almost swollen shut. His face felt like it was burning…but this pain was nothing compared to the sheer agony that emanated from his left knee.
