Some noteworthy events:

Happy Birthday Greetings:

"The Big 4-0" to Michael Mediavilla - sorry about that Mike but I'll trade you even up, as far as birthdays are concerned.

Tom Volberg who hosted the below-mentioned Mazarin Birthday party.

Murray Olarnick: Happy 42nd Birthday times two. One of the youngest guys I know. Love you, Dad.

Traveling Around:

Keith Scott Olarnick (my bruddah) on his recent "birthday" trip to Club Hedonism.

Atlantic City (Yeah, "A.C." is a trip) with Karen - and the late-attending Peter - Wow - Watching Karen in her "Zone" at the poker machines is a "trip" in and of itself.

"Lost Wages" for Terry-Ann and Dan "O" and then off to Phoenix Arizona. Hey, our little "streak" continues to live, too!

Tom and Diane Volberg hosted the 2nd Annual Mazarin Summer (Birthday) Bash at their home on Saturday, July 23, 2005. From all reports received it was a great success. Terry-Ann and I were not in attendance, as we were attending the National Court Reporter's Convention held in Phoenix, Arizona at the Desert Ridge Spa, but await a report on the actual events that took place at this adults only party. I'll let "Aunt Tick" off the hook on reporting on this event and hope that Diane will give us a detailed rundown.

"Aunt" Tick (Our Star Reporter) Reports:

May 19th - Peter and Angela Volberg and their Daughter Madlyn and husband John Singer, flew to London where they spent a few days seeing all the sights. On May 22nd they went aboard the Queen Mary 2 for a voyage back to New York. They had a wonderful time and highly praised the Queen Mary 2 and the Cunard Line for a marvelous voyage. The Ship and the accommodations were terrific. They returned on May 28th.

June 11th - Dance recital time for Olivia and Julia Volberg.
They both looked beautiful and their performance was wonderful.

June 19th - Father's Day was celebrated at Jerome Drive where everyone who attended had a grand time.

Terry and Dan "O" were in Florida visiting his dad.

June 29th - Ann-Marie, Mike, Anna Paige, Pilar and Ava left for New Hampshire to spend the July 4th weekend on the Lake. Terry and Dan joined in the fun. All had a good time. Highlighted by the fact that 20-month old Pilar entertained everyone by actually playing her harmonica (witnessed and photographed by Dan "O" and Terry-Ann), while Anna Paige, not to be upstaged, simply remained "Anna Paige."

Thomas and Chris Volberg continue to have a championship season in Little League.

Editorial Promotion: To Gabe Morales, author of Torment, upon his appointment to the position on the staff of Scribal Tales as the Editorial Publishing Editor. Gabe has graciously agreed to forgo the "generous salary offer" that I made to him and to share the reading and critiquing duties with yours truly. Oh, all right, so I didn't offer him any monies, I just begged, cried and whined until he agreed to accept the position. New authors beware: Gabe is not quite as kind as I am when it comes to rejecting stories. He expects perfection … just kidding.

Special and Noteworthy Mention:

Thomas (The Nephew) Volberg, July 31, 2005, 2:30 p.m., for hitting the winning "3 run walk-off" home run and earning the East Meadow Invitational Homerun Trophy, as Tom's team, The Bethpage Eagles destroyed the Long Beach "Bullies." Just a note: Thomas' home run, hit out of the park, brought in two other teammates and then the "Long Beach Bullies" had to walk off the field. Wow!

The "Streak" Lives: Yes, the now infamous gambling streak of Peter (Pan) and Karen (Tinkerbell) lives and prospers. Here is an eye-opener: They hit Three Royals in a row! Not even Einstein could calculate the odds of that happening. May "The Streak" live long and prosper.

Al Bowin qualified in both sections of the real-time competition featured at the NCRA. This is a tremendous feat noteworthy of Al's reporting skills and something for all New York Court Reporters to be proud of.

Thank Heaven for Little Boys: To Peter and Toni Ann Figueroa upon the birth of their son Anthony Joseph, May 8, 2005, 8:44 p.m., 5 lbs., 8 oz., 17½ inches

Celebrations and Parties:
To Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Carlo and to Dr. and Mr. Fermin Francisco upon the engagement of their children Kristen and Mitch, Saturday, July 30th, 2005, 6 o'clock in the evening at the Francisco Residence.

Order in the Court: To Nicole Carlo-Morales (wife of Gabe, daughter of dear friends Nelson and Evelyne Carlo, who recently passed the Bar (and I don't mean the Black Dragon Inn) and will be joining the Mercer County Public Defender's office in the near future. Well done, counselor!
