As most of the readers and subscribers know, during the past three months, I have been quite busy tending to transcript production. My apologies to any author, who has not received a response from me, but I promise for the September - November issue of Scribal Tales that your submissions will be attended to.

This edition of The Scribe's Gazette is dedicated to Gary Klausner and his family. Gary was featured in Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Everyone who saw the show on July 26th felt Gary's story should become the next situation comedy, "Everybody Loves Gary!" (Comment by Madlyn Singer.)

Here is some background information for those of you who haven't seen the show or do not know Gary personally:

The show aired on Tuesday, July 26th on the Bravo Network at 10 p.m. Check with BRAVOTV.COM for other times.

You can read about Gary's inspiring story, as featured in the Daily News by Brian Harmon, staff writer, on July 26, 2005.

Gary, who recently celebrated his 40th Birthday, at a surprise party thrown by his wife, Robin and Gary's brother, Lloyd, is a true inspiration to all of us.

Gary was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 10. His mother, Elaine and his father, Walter, were informed that Gary would not live past the age of 16. They never flinched in their belief that Gary would beat all the odds, and devoted themselves into learning everything there was to learn about this dreaded disease, becoming staunch supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, with Elaine becoming the Long Island Chapter President.

Gary's brother, Lloyd, has epitomized what a "Big Brother" is supposed to be all about. I'm very proud of Lloyd and all that he has accomplished.

Gary's wife, Robin, has devoted herself to Gary and gave Gary the gift of life in the form of his twin sons, Matthew and Steven (born on October 25, 1998).

Not only is Gary a 30-year survivor of this dreaded disease but also he is a seven-year survivor of a double-lung transplant.

It is a wonderful story and a wonderful show. I hope all our readers and subscribers will take the time to see this show. It is an inspiration to the "Will To Live" and shows us how one individual can overcome what appears to be insurmountable odds and win the most important race of all: Life!

So, to a kid that I witnessed growing up, I want to take a moment and raise a fictional glass of champagne into the air and toast my Cousin Gary Klausner, as someone who has shown us all there is to know about life and courage, and how worthwhile "living it to its fullest" truly is. Gary is what is known as someone who always gives 110% to everything he does. We love him dearly.

Special praise to Boomer Esiason for bringing Gary's story to the attention of the producers of Queer Eye; it's the best pass he's ever made.

I am sure there will be a number of events and news items that I will miss writing about in this edition, but if you write to me, telling me what events I failed to chronicle, I will recite them in the next issue.
