As 2007 draws to a close, I look back at the highlights of what I consider a very interesting year for the subscribers, readers, authors, illustrators and friends of Scribal Tales.
But, first a Scribal Announcement of Joy: To The Gallants, our Web Goddess, Rebecca and her husband-author Michael are proud to announce the birth of their son, Seth, hereinafter, affectionately known as The Spawn. Hey, don't yell at me, that's what the Web Goddess had to say in a candid interview, as recorded below:
Scribal Tales (Dan Olarnick): So, tell me, Rebecca, now that you are back to work, after giving birth, and bathing in the joys of motherhood, how do you feel about Seth?
The Web Goddess (Rebecca Gallant):
Glad you asked, Dan. Thought all your attention was directed towards did you say the 15 th revision of The Prometheus Stratagem gee, and I thought giving birth was difficult but, as long as you asked about me and my precious Spawn err manchild, here it is, an exclusive for Scribal Tales and its readers:
Seth Patrick Gallant (also known affectionately as "The Spawn of Becthulhu") was born August 27th, 2007 at 1:11pm - 7.4 lbs, 20".
Having missed his actual due date of August 21st (H.P. Lovecraft's birthday, by the way), and one day short of a total eclipse of the moon, he failed in any way to associate this birth with anything esoteric. However, this was a wise decision in that you ought not to bring attention to yourself when you plan on growing up one day to enslave the human race. It does, however, frustrate his mother. It frustrates her (The Web Goddess) further that he was also born two days before her own birthday, thus wiping out her own future celebratory endeavors forever more. It is not wise to anger the Web Goddess. Luckily for him, he is incredibly cute, and thus all is forgiven.
Scribal Tales: And what about Michael Gallant --
The Web Goddess: -- What about him? What about him, you ask?
Scribal Tales: Let's change the subject, shall we?
Seriously, Rebecca, Michael, congratulations from Scribal Tales upon the arrival of Seth Patrick Gallant. Dan O
To J. Jackson (Hensbane Gatherhence) A Scribal Shout for a speedy recovery.
To Terry-Ann Volberg (The Silent Assassin) for her outstanding play in winning the 9 p.m. tournament at the A.C. Hilton's poker tournament. Terry-Ann has compiled a final table percentage that is truly outstanding: In twelve tournaments she has made the final table seven times. So, what do I get at home, her prancing around, saying, Who's the Champ, Who's the Champ!
